2007 sketches and drawings

Sketches and Drawings made in 2007 // I was just getting into bird watching and birds in my area (Northern California at the time) I remember the frustration of trying to sketch birds at my bird feeder. They just never stayed still long enough!!! This later started a brief attempt at trying to photograph birds in “still life” set-ups, where I’d put seed in tea cups and bowls to attract them with the aim to keep them around long enough to photograph them with my point-and-shoot camera. I wanted to capture the movement I was not able to get quickly enough while sketching plein air. Using the photos I took as a reference ended up helping with a bunch of paintings and projects.
